[[Gary Sick]] is a former [[Jimmy Carter|Carter]] administration adviser on [[Iran]]. He is the author of *October Surprise*, a book that systematically examines the evidence suggesting a secret deal between the [[Ronald Reagan|Reagan]] campaign and [[Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini|Khomeini]] to delay the release of [[USA|American]] hostages in [[Iran]] until after the 1980 presidential election.[^1]
[[Gary Sick|Sick's]] allegations, along with those of [[Ari Ben-Menashe]], were investigated by the [[October Surprise Task Force]] and the [[Senate Foreign Relations Committee]].[^1]
