The [[El Aqsa Mosque]] is located on the [[Temple Mount]] in [[Jerusalem]], considered by Muslims to be the holiest place after [[Mecca]] and [[Medina]]. It is built over a rock imprinted with a footstep said to be that of the Prophet [[Mohammed]], who ascended to heaven from that spot.[^1]
In August 1969, the [[El Aqsa Mosque]] was the target of an arson attack carried out by [[Michael Dennis Rohan]], an [[Australia|Australian]] member of the Church of God. [[Michael Dennis Rohan|Rohan]] believed that destroying the mosque was necessary for the rebuilding of the Third Temple and the return of Christ. This act outraged Muslims worldwide and led to calls for a jihad against [[Israel]]. [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] played a role in exposing [[Michael Dennis Rohan|Rohan's]] involvement and his connections with the [[Jewish Defense League]] (JDL).[^1]

[[Entebbe Airport]] is located in [[Uganda]]. It was the site of the 1976 [[Entebbe hijacking]], where an [[Air France]] jet was diverted and landed. The hijacking led to a commando raid by [[Israel|Israeli]] forces to rescue the hostages.[^1]

[[Kibbutz Mishmar Hasharon]] is a kibbutz in [[Israel]]. In 1969, [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] joined this kibbutz after he could not be drafted into the [[Israel|Israeli]] army due to his [[Iran|Iranian]] passport. While there, he studied Hebrew and performed volunteer work.[^1]
It was at [[Kibbutz Mishmar Hasharon]] that [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] met [[Michael Dennis Rohan]], an [[Australia|Australian]] member of the Church of God, and an [[USA|American]] Baptist named Arthur. [[Michael Dennis Rohan|Rohan]] later carried out an arson attack on the [[El Aqsa Mosque]], an event that [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] helped to expose.[^1]

[[Liege]] is a city in [[Belgium]]. It served as a hand-over point for [[USA|U.S.]] military matériel purchased from [[NATO]] stocks in [[Europe]] by [[Israel]]. [[Israel|Israeli]] chartered cargo planes would fly to [[Liege]] to pick up the matériel, and then return to [[Tel Aviv]] before transporting the weapons to [[Iran]].[^1]

[[Marana]] is a [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] airbase located near [[Tucson]], [[Arizona]]. It served as a collection point for weapons purchased by the [[USA|U.S.]] government for transfer to [[Israel]] and subsequently to [[Iran]].[^1]

The first batch of weapons from [[Marana]] was flown out in October 1981. In February 1987, 4,000 [[TOW missile]]s were flown out of [[Marana]] Base to [[Guatemala]] and then shipped through [[Australia]] as part of a large-scale arms supply operation to [[Iran]].[^1]

[[SIMWA]] (SADF-IDF Mutual Wartime Agreement) was a military cooperation agreement drawn up between the [[South African Defense Force]] (SADF) and the [[Israel Defense Forces]] (IDF). It was created in 1978-1979, after [[Ezer Weizman]], then [[Israel|Israeli]] Defense Minister, agreed with [[P.W. Botha]], Prime Minister of [[South Africa]], on a wartime alliance as the price for continuing nuclear tests.[^1]
The [[SIMWA|agreement]] stipulated that if either country faced a shortage of matériel during war or military operations, the other country would provide supplies from its own stockpiles. It also included a provision for an annual meeting of the deputy chiefs of general staff, alternating between [[Israel]] and [[South Africa]].[^1]
Under this [[SIMWA|agreement]], [[Israel]] sold 175mm artillery that could carry small nuclear devices to [[South Africa]]. [[South Africa]] also agreed to invest in [[Israel|Israel's]] nuclear program and provide testing grounds in the [[Indian Ocean]] for [[Israel|Israeli]] nuclear tests.[^1]
