Tutogen Medical, Inc., of [[Paterson, New Jersey]], was a tissue processor that bought tissue from [[Biomedical Tissue Services]], the company of [[Michael Mastromarino]]. According to the [[Centers for Disease Control and Prevention]], it was one of five processors that received BTS tissue directly and recalled it in September and October 2005.[^1] According to the *New York Daily News,* bones taken from the body of the broadcaster [[Alistair Cooke]] were sold for more than 7,000 dollars to Tutogen and [[Regeneration Technologies]].[^2] In 2008 the Associated Press reported that the processors that had bought from BTS faced hundreds of civil suits from recipients.[^3] On February 27, 2008, Tutogen completed its merger with Regeneration Technologies, in a transaction valued at about 205 million dollars, to form RTI Biologics, Inc.[^4]
