Major [[Abdul Salam Jalloud]] was the right-hand man of [[Muammar Qaddafi|Col. Muammar Qaddafi]] of [[Libya]]. He visited [[Iran]] to present [[Muammar Qaddafi|Qaddafi's]] congratulations to the new regime after the [[Iranian Revolution]].[^1]
During his visit, [[Abdul Salam Jalloud|Jalloud]] was questioned by his [[Iran|Iranian]] hosts about the fate of [[Sheikh Mussa Sadr]], a Shi'ite leader from southern [[Lebanon]], who had disappeared on a visit to [[Libya]] in 1978. The [[Libya|Libyans]] were believed to have killed [[Sheikh Mussa Sadr|Sadr]] for preaching Shi'ite [[Islam]]. [[Abdul Salam Jalloud|Jalloud]] was not allowed to leave [[Iran]] for three weeks until [[Muammar Qaddafi|Qaddafi]] personally intervened and spoke to [[Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini|Khomeini]].[^1]

summary: "Armand Van Ghysegham was a book publisher operating under the name Aba-Vangh and the owner of two esoteric bookstores in Brussels, Belgium."
---
Armand Van Ghysegham was a book publisher operating under the name Aba-Vangh and the owner of two esoteric bookstores in [[Brussels|Brussels, Belgium]]. Ghysegham appeared to have been the primary focus of the investigation into the [[Abrasax Institute]] rather than the institute itself. Ghysegham seemingly spent much of his time in Thailand. Police went to search one of his bookstores during the [[Abrasax Institute]] raids in December 1996 but found the property vacant with a "for rent" sign. Ghysegham's publishing company Aba-Vangh had declared bankruptcy in 1995, the same year [[John Stamford]] faced trial in Belgium.[^1]
The [[X-Dossier]] contains summary interviews with three of Ghysegham's former employees conducted between 21 December 1996 and 14 January 1997. All three said Ghysegham was a pedophile who frequently visited Thailand for this purpose, and one stated he had been involved in child trafficking. All three said he participated in black mass rituals held at the [[Abrasax Institute]]. Two mentioned Ghysegham had a wealthy benefactor named Dessy who was his mistress, identified as [[Forges de Clabecq]], a member of a wealthy industrialist family who owned a controlling interest in [[Forges de Clabecq]].[^1]
### Connection to John Stamford
Shortly after the interviews with Ghysegham's employees, a note dated 16 January 1997 appeared in the [[X-Dossier]] linking [[John Stamford]] to Ghysegham. The note from PJ Turnhout stated that an anonymous witness said the Stamford file was linked to Dutroux-Nihoul, describing the Stamford dossier as worldwide dissemination of the pedophile idea with trafficking in organs of foreign children on the sidelines. The witness handed over a copy of a VLAN advertisement for Aba-Vangh, identifying Van Ghysegham as a friend of Stamford. The connection between Ghysegham and [[John Stamford]] established a direct link between the [[Abrasax Institute]] and the [[Spartacus Network]].[^1]

Charles N. Van Doren was the deputy general counsel of the [[Arms Control and Disarmament Agency]] in the [[Richard Nixon|Nixon]] administration. He was convinced that [[Israel]] was the "Achilles heel" of [[America]]'s [[Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty|NPT]] policy, stating, "We were winking at it." Van Doren repeatedly tried to get the NPT on the agenda for talks on the [[Middle East]], but was told there was "too much on the table." He understood the underlying reason: an order had gone out that no nuclear information on Israeli proliferation was to be put out, which he found very frustrating.[^1]

summary: "Nichols formalized a joint venture with Wackenhut Corporation on April 1, 1981, to establish 'Cabazon Arms' on the reservation."
---
[[Dr. John Philip Nichols]] was the administrator of the [[Cabazon Indian Reservation|Cabazon Indian tribe]] and a former [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] agent. He played a central role in the [[Cabazon Indian Reservation|Cabazon]]/[[Wackenhut Corporation]] Joint Venture and was deeply involved in various covert operations, arms dealing, and alleged criminal activities.[^1]
### Cabazon/Wackenhut Joint Venture
Nichols formalized a joint venture with [[Wackenhut Corporation]] on April 1, 1981, to establish "Cabazon Arms" on the reservation. This venture aimed to manufacture high-tech arms and explosives for export, leveraging the reservation's sovereign status to bypass federal regulations. Nichols obtained a [[Department of Defense|Department of Defense]] secret facility clearance for the reservation and proposed the manufacture of various weapons systems, including 120mm combustible cartridge cases, 9mm machine pistols, laser-sighted assault weapons, sniper rifles, and portable rocket systems. He also sought to develop biological weapons.[^1]
Nichols introduced [[Michael Riconosciuto]] to [[Robert Frye]], Vice President of [[Wackenhut Corporation]], and Riconosciuto conducted a theoretical blackboard exercise on a Railgun for [[Dr. Harry Fair]] at Picatinny Arsenal. Nichols was aware of Riconosciuto's past conviction for stabbing a [[DEA|DEA]] agent but still sought his expertise.[^1]
### Alleged Criminal Activities and Connections
Nichols was arrested in January 1985 for hiring a man to solicit the murder of five people for drug-related reasons, though the murders were not carried out due to his arrest. He was convicted of felony murder solicitation and served 18 months in prison. His son, [[John Paul Nichols]], took over his position as acting administrator during his incarceration.[^1]
Police reports indicate that Nichols previously did business in [[Saudi Arabia]], [[South Africa]], [[Panama]], [[Nicaragua]], [[Guatemala]], [[Mexico]], [[Chile]], [[Brazil]], the [[Netherlands]], [[England]], [[Canada]], [[France]], [[Spain]], [[Japan]], [[Korea]], and [[Taiwan]]. In 1960, he managed a Coca-Cola bottling plant in Sao Paolo, [[Brazil]], and later became a Pentecostal leader in the Chilean Pentecostal movement.[^1]
Nichols wrote himself a 10-year contract with the Cabazon tribe in 1978, granting him 50 percent of the profits from any business he brought to the reservation. He embarked on international security and military ventures, including proposals to provide security for [[Crown Prince Fahd]]'s Saudi Arabia palace and to manufacture weapons on the reservation.[^1]
Surveillance reports from the Indio Police Department in August 1981 observed Nichols meeting with various [[La Cosa Nostra]] underworld figures, including [[Tommy Marson]], a known [[Gambino Crime Family]] associate, [[Vincent Caci Bologna]], [[Anthony Fratianno]], and [[Daniel Magano]]. These meetings were believed to involve financial transactions, suggesting Nichols acted as an intermediary between the Cabazons and the Mob.[^1]
### Role in Murders and Cover-ups
Nichols was implicated in the [[Fred Alvarez]] triple murders. [[Peter Zokosky]]'s time-line indicated that Nichols was in [[Canada]] with Zokosky from June 22 to June 30, 1981, providing him with an alibi for the murders of [[Fred Alvarez]], [[Ralph Boger]], and [[Patricia Castro]] on June 29, 1981. However, [[John Belton]], a Canadian source, claimed that Nichols used people in [[Canada]] to ensure he had an alibi.[^1]
[[Jimmy Hughes]], security director of the Cabazon casino, reported that he was instructed in Nichols' presence to take $5,000 as partial payment for the Alvarez killings. Hughes later alleged that Nichols was involved in criminal activities, including issuing contracts to commit murder, and that the gambling enterprises were fronts for U.S. government-sanctioned covert military activities and arms shipments.[^1]
[[Michael Riconosciuto]] claimed that Nichols' office was broken into to retrieve [[Phyllis Riconosciuto]]'s diary, which contained passwords for [[Tyme Shares]] online financial clearing house, used for accessing bank accounts. Riconosciuto also stated that Nichols and [[Peter Zokosky]] claimed that Riconosciuto was responsible for the torture and murder of [[Paul Morasca]], and that Riconosciuto had discussed torture techniques with Nichols prior to Morasca's death.[^1]

summary: CIA Inspector General whose 1998 investigation and congressional testimony revealed the agency's secret 1982 agreement with the Justice Department exempting CIA assets from drug crimes reporting.
born: 1939-10-14
location: "Washington, D.C."
---
Fred P. Hitz was the [[Central Intelligence Agency]] Inspector General who conducted the agency's internal investigation into Contra drug trafficking and testified before Congress in March 1998 about his findings.[^1]
### Congressional Testimony
Appearing before the House Intelligence Committee in March 1998, Hitz delivered some of the most damaging admissions in the agency's history. "Let me be frank about what we are finding," Hitz testified. "There are instances where CIA did not, in an expeditious or consistent fashion, cut off relationships with individuals supporting the Contra program who were alleged to have engaged in drug trafficking activity." When Congressman Norman Dicks asked whether any of these allegations involved trafficking in the [[United States]], Hitz answered: "Yes."[^1]
### The Secret 1982 Agreement
Hitz revealed that from 1982 to 1995, the CIA operated under a secret agreement with the Justice Department that exempted the agency from reporting drug crimes committed by its non-employees, a category defined to include agents, assets, and non-staff employees. The agreement was "hammered out" between CIA director William Casey and U.S. Attorney General William French Smith in 1982. "The period of 1982 to 1995 was one in which there was no official requirement to report on allegations of drug trafficking with respect to non-employees of the agency," Hitz testified.[^1]
### Inspector General's Report
Hitz's 400-page report, released in late 1998, was filled with examples of CIA collusion with drug traffickers, money launderers, and drug pilots. The [[New York Times]] reported on its front page in July 1998 that the agency had working relationships with dozens of suspected drug traffickers during the Nicaraguan conflict and that CIA higher-ups knew it. "The new study has found that the Agency's decision to keep those paid agents, or to continue dealing with them in some less formal relationship, was made by top officials at headquarters," the Times reported. The [[Washington Post]] buried the story deep inside the paper, and the [[Los Angeles Times|L.A. Times]] printed nothing.[^1]

# Henry Belk
Henry Belk was a department store tycoon and a wealthy benefactor of [[Andrija Puharich]]'s research into [[Extrasensory Perception|ESP]] and other anomalous mental phenomena. He was part of the elite circle of individuals who supported the [[Round Table Foundation]] in Maine[^1].
Belk was one of the wealthy individuals who joined the [[Round Table Foundation]], flying to Maine in his private jet for foundation meetings. His financial contributions helped keep the foundation afloat, particularly after it gained prestige from its affiliation with [[Samuel Rosen]]'s groundbreaking surgical procedure[^1].
In the spring of 1956, Belk happened upon a *Paris Match* magazine article profiling [[Peter Hurkos]], a Dutch psychic who was gaining fame in Europe. Belk's idea was to bring Hurkos to the [[Round Table Foundation]] to be tested in the lab, which he did in the fall of 1956[^1].
In early 1963, Belk arrived at Puharich's Ossining estate with an enticing research proposition centered on [[Arigo]], a psychic healer in the jungles of Brazil who reportedly performed major surgeries with a pocketknife without anesthesia or pain. Puharich, eager to pursue this, left for Brazil with Belk, a decision that led to [[Bep Hermans]] and their children leaving him[^1].

Henry K. Beecher (1904–1976) was a controversial anesthesiologist who, for the [[Central Intelligence Agency]] in the 1950s, studied the [[Placebo Effect]]. The placebo effect is a remarkable phenomenon whereby a harmless pill or simulated treatment produces real-world physiological effects in humans[^1].
Beecher's work contributed to the understanding of how perception of an event or a situation—real or imagined, rational or irrational—can cause consequential actions to occur. This concept is also related to the [[Thomas Theorem]], which states that "if men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences"[^1].

Baker was on the [[Music Corporation of America|MCA]] board from January 4, 1985, to March 2, 1987, when he resigned to accept the position of chief of staff to President [[Ronald Reagan]]. He returned to [[Music Corporation of America|MCA]]'s board of directors in March 1989, just months after the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] wiretaps on [[Music Corporation of America|MCA]] had been shut down (Fall 1988).[^1]
[[Edwin Meese]], [[William F. Weld]], and [[Arnold Burns]] complained to Baker about Meese's conduct. Weld stated that his superiors often asked if he could not close pending investigations of Meese's friends. Baker urged Weld and Burns to remain on staff, but they, along with four top aides, resigned from the [[Department of Justice|Justice Department]] on March 30, 1988, in an unprecedented mass exit.[^1]

---
Nicholas J. Bua was appointed Special Counsel by Attorney General [[William Barr]] on November 7, 1991, to investigate all allegations of wrongdoing in connection with the [[PROMIS Software Scandal|Inslaw matter]]. His mandate was to conduct a complete and thorough investigation to determine if there had been any misconduct by individuals inside or outside the [[Department of Justice|DOJ]]. Bua was assured of complete independence and full cooperation from all DOJ employees. He selected six Assistant United States Attorneys and two FBI agents to assist him, all of whom reported solely to him to maintain the investigation's independence. The investigation devoted considerable resources to the myriad allegations, which ranged from murder and international espionage to simple incompetence. Bua's report, submitted in March 1993 to newly appointed Attorney General [[Janet Reno]], concluded that there was no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing by any past or present DOJ employee.[^1]
Bua's report concluded that there was no credible evidence to support the allegation of a conspiracy between DOJ members and [[Earl Brian]] to obtain or distribute [[PROMIS]] software, stating that the overwhelming evidence showed no connection between Brian and anything related to [[INSLAW]] or PROMIS. The report also found insufficient evidence to support the allegation that the DOJ obtained an enhanced version of PROMIS through fraud, trickery, and deceit, or that it wrongfully distributed PROMIS. Instead, it concluded that DOJ employees acted in what they genuinely believed were the best legitimate interests of the government. Furthermore, the report found no credible evidence that DOJ employees improperly influenced the selection process that resulted in Bankruptcy Judge Bason's non-reappointment, nor that DOJ employees attempted to improperly influence the U.S. Trustee to convert the Inslaw bankruptcy case or committed perjury to hide such obstruction. Finally, the report found no evidence that DOJ employees destroyed any documents related to Inslaw or otherwise acted improperly to obstruct Congressional investigations.[^1]

After the deaths of [[Marie Fernanda|Freddie]] and Herut (Ari Ben-Menashe's daughter), [[Ora Ben-Shalom|Ora]] and [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] began a relationship in late 1986, eventually living together in [[Jerusalem]]. She traveled with him on various business trips to [[Europe]].[^1]
In August 1987, [[Ora Ben-Shalom|Ora]] was put under surveillance and interrogated by [[SHABAK]] (Israel's internal security agency) after she was discovered meeting with [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] people in [[Tel Aviv]]. She admitted to talking to the [[United States|Americans]] about [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe]] and his knowledge of the [[Iran-Contra Affair]]. Her ties with [[Mossad]] were terminated, but [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe]] intervened to prevent her prosecution, claiming she was pregnant and they planned to marry. Their daughter, Shira, was born on July 22, 1988.[^1]
In October 1989, [[Ora Ben-Shalom|Ora]] and [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] planned a vacation to [[Sydney]], [[Australia]]. However, [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe]] was arrested in [[Los Angeles]] before they could depart. [[Ora Ben-Shalom|Ora]] later divorced [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] in [[Israel]].[^1]

P. T. Van Dyke was a co-author of the Pentagon briefing, "Paranormal Phenomena—Briefing on a Net Assessment Study," published in January 1973. This report discussed the potential military utility of [[Extrasensory Perception|ESP]] and [[Psychokinesis|PK]], particularly in the context of [[Uri Geller]]'s alleged abilities[^1].
The study noted that it would not be conceptually difficult to imagine the utility of psychokinesis in disrupting electrical systems, such as those associated with an [[Intercontinental Ballistic Missile|ICBM]]'s guidance program, as displayed by Geller. The report emphasized a serious need for detailed analytical studies of these phenomena by specialists in various scientific disciplines[^1].
Van Dyke and his co-author, [[M. L. Juncosa]], also highlighted the challenge facing anyone working on such studies, noting that the subject matter "tends to be polarized into uncritical acceptance or total rejection" of fact. They lamented that little progress was likely to be made as long as the research field remained a "childish battle between 'true believers' and 'the incredulous [who] dismiss the matter out of hand'"[^1].

summary: "Morasca's death occurred just six months after the execution-style triple homicide of former Cabazon Tribal Council vice-chairman Fred Alvarez and his friends, Ralph Boger and Patricia Castro, in Rancho Mirage, California."
---
[[Paul Morasca]] was a San Francisco entrepreneur who was found murdered in January 1982. His death, along with that of [[Mary Quick]], was traced to looted [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] money from the Sydney-based [[Nugan Hand Bank]]. Morasca was suspected of being a money launderer involved in a major Northern California drug ring.[^1]
[[Michael Riconosciuto]], Morasca's partner, claimed that Morasca was tortured by his murderer to obtain secret bank code cards containing account numbers where [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] monies, including funds from [[Nugan Hand Bank]], had been hidden. Riconosciuto also claimed that he and Morasca had transferred millions of dollars for [[Michael Hand]] when Hand fled [[Australia]].[^1]
Morasca's death occurred just six months after the execution-style triple homicide of former Cabazon Tribal Council vice-chairman [[Fred Alvarez]] and his friends, [[Ralph Boger]] and [[Patricia Castro]], in Rancho Mirage, California. Morasca had been chosen to manage the Cabazon Casino shortly before his murder, which may explain why Cabazon-related investigative reports were inserted into his homicide file in San Francisco. The San Francisco Police Department's "Paul Morasca Homicide Investigation File" (Case No. 82-1052505) was not computerized and contained a comprehensive report on [[Philip Arthur Thompson]]'s suspected connections to the murder.[^1]
[[Michael Riconosciuto]] stated that the "biggest loss" he received at the time of Morasca's death was a "big bag of bearer shares of original Tyme Shares stock," and he believed this was the main reason Morasca was killed. The computer cards that Morasca and [[Mary Quick]] allegedly died for belonged to the [[Tyme Shares]] on-line financial clearing house, used worldwide by banking institutions. Riconosciuto claimed he and Morasca had accessed bank accounts using these computer cards in conjunction with passwords derived from "pets" named in [[Phyllis Riconosciuto]]'s (Michael's ex-wife's) diary.[^1]
[[Michael Riconosciuto]] also submitted a statement to the San Francisco Grand Jury in February 1984 regarding Morasca's death, which cryptically tied Morasca to [[Wackenhut Corporation]]. This statement, later typed by [[Ellen Nichols]], wife of [[Robert Booth Nichols]], after Riconosciuto met with [[Peter Zokosky]] and [[Robert Booth Nichols]], related to the sale of [[George Wackenhut]]'s yacht *Top Secret* and a methamphetamine operation. [[Peter Zokosky]] later commented that Morasca was killed because of a "narcotics deal" gone awry, and that he was involved in laundering large sums of money from drug profits.[^1]
Morasca was involved in a government drug-sting operation, and was close to [[Ben Kalka]] and [[Al Holbert]], a former [[Israel|Israeli]] intelligence agent. He was found murdered in San Francisco on January 14, 1982, during the time these sting operations were underway. [[Sue Todd]]'s notes indicated that the motive for Morasca's murder was that he was a trustee to several estates, including Riconosciuto's family, and had a computer disc identifying these estates and offshore banks/codes to access them. A copy of this disc was reportedly found at [[Cheri Seymour]]'s house.[^1]

summary: "Paul Vanden Boeynants, born 1919 in Brussels, Belgium, served as Prime Minister from 1978 to 1981 and held earlier roles including Minister of the Interior."

died: 2001-01-09
location: "Brussels, Belgium"
---
Paul Vanden Boeynants, born 1919 in Brussels, Belgium, served as Prime Minister from 1978 to 1981 and held earlier roles including Minister of the Interior. A key figure in the Christian Social Party (CSP), Vanden Boeynants focused on security and anti-communist efforts during the Cold War. In the [[X-Dossier]], witness [[Regina Louf]] (X1) accused him of raping her as a child at her grandmother [[Cecile Beernaert]]'s brothel in Knokke-Heist, near the [[Royal Zoute Golf Club]]. Louf described Vanden Boeynants arriving from golf rounds for private sessions where he engaged in sexual acts with her. X1 claimed he attended orgies at the Dolo nightclub and Faulx-les-Tombes chateau organized by [[Jean-Michel Nihoul]], where he sodomized her and participated in violent acts. Vanden Boeynants denied the accusations, calling them political fabrications.[^1]
Vanden Boeynants survived a 1974 kidnapping attempt linked to his anti-communist work, released after ransom payment. The X-Dossier, compiled under Judge [[Jean-Marc Connerotte]] and Prosecutor [[Michel Bourlet]], included Louf's identification of him from photos as an abuser at Beernaert's brothel, where she was prostituted from age two. Louf detailed him raping her in a bedroom with Beernaert watching. She claimed he participated in orgies with Nihoul, [[Count Leopold Lippens]], and [[Baron Benoit de Bonvoisin]], escalating to violence for blackmail in business and politics. Vanden Boeynants, a CSP leader, had ties to financial institutions like [[Societe Generale de Banque]], backing the party, with family estates in the Ardennes used for hunts alleged by Louf.[^1]
Vanden Boeynants' connections to the network appeared in the X-Dossier through Louf's testimony of parties at his Faulx-les-Tombes chateau, where contracts were sealed with sexual acts involving children. Louf described him sodomizing her while she was forced to perform oral sex on another man. The dossier noted his attendance at events with Lippens brothers and de Bonvoisin. As a CSP leader, Vanden Boeynants had ties to [[Melchior Wathelet]], who paroled Dutroux in 1992. No direct evidence beyond testimony linked him to [[Spartacus International]] or other rings, but his political stature aligned with accused elites. Vanden Boeynants died in 2001 without charges.[^1]
### Political Background
Vanden Boeynants entered politics post-WW2, rising through CSP ranks to become Minister of the Interior in 1965 and Prime Minister in 1978. Known as "Monsieur Paul," he focused on security and anti-left efforts during the Cold War. In 1974, kidnappers released him after ransom, an event investigated for possible ties to his positions. His career involved decisions on justice matters, including parole systems like the one freeing Dutroux in 1992 by Wathelet. The X-Dossier implicated him in abuse networks overlapping with CSP figures and Societe Generale de Banque.[^1]
During the 1980s, Vanden Boeynants chaired the CSP and served in the European Parliament from 1979-1983. His anti-communist stance aligned with [[Operation Gladio]] networks, with the X-Dossier mapping CSP politicians in the abuse ring. Vanden Boeynants' influence extended to business contracts, with Louf claiming parties served blackmail purposes for agreements. His death in 2001 followed the 1996 Dutroux arrest and X-Dossier leak in 1997, preventing testimony.[^1]
### Connections in X-Dossier
Louf testified Vanden Boeynants visited the Knokke brothel from golf, raping her individually. She claimed he attended Nihoul's orgies at the Dolo and chateau, where she was sodomized and forced into acts with dogs at [[ASCO Industries NV]]. X1 described him at parties with Lippens brothers and de Bonvoisin, involving chain sodomy. The dossier included Louf's identification from photos, corroborated by location verifications. Vanden Boeynants' CSP role linked to [[Jean-Paul Dumont]]'s clients and CRIES operations via shared financial circles.[^1]
Louf's accounts placed him at events with [[Count Maurice Auguste Lippens]]' family, near Royal Zoute Golf Club. The X-Dossier summary noted Vanden Boeynants' presence at sadomasochist parties with X2. His political enemies, including from left-wing groups, were linked to the 1974 kidnapping attempt. The 1999 book "The X-Files" published leaked dossier details naming him, but no charges followed. Vanden Boeynants denied claims, attributing them to political motives.[^1]
The network ties included Societe Generale de Banque, where Lippens had interests, backing CSP campaigns. Vanden Boeynants' chateau hosted gatherings Louf said involved Bourlet's probe into blackmail for subsidies and arms. His death prevented 2004 trial testimony, with the case closing without prosecution.[^1]
### Legal Outcome
Vanden Boeynants faced no charges from X-Dossier allegations, with testimonies barred from Dutroux's 2004 trial due to reliability issues with X-witnesses' DID. The 1997 dossier leak detailed his name, but investigations halted after his 2001 death from natural causes. No assets or records were seized linking him to crimes. The 2005 Wikileaks summary reiterated claims, but no legal action occurred post-mortem.[^1]

summary: "Gunderson became deeply involved in the investigation of corruption and drug rings within Mariposa County, California, after being approached by the D.I.G."
born: 1928-11-07
died: 2011-07-31
location: "Colorado Springs, Colorado"
---
[[Ted Gunderson]] was a former [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] agent who transitioned into private investigation after his retirement from the Bureau. His distinguished career with the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] included serving as a Senior Special Agent in Charge (SAC) at headquarters in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Dallas, Texas. Following his tenure with the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]], he worked for F. Lee Bailey, Esq., before establishing his own investigative agency in Los Angeles County.[^1]
### The Octopus Investigation
Gunderson became deeply involved in the investigation of corruption and drug rings within Mariposa County, California, after being approached by the [[D.I.G. (Decency in Government)]] group. His prior work included compiling a comprehensive 700-page report for the Tulare City Council, which meticulously detailed instances of deputies receiving payoffs and distributing drugs in Tulare. His engagement in the Mariposa investigation marked a significant expansion of his efforts into the broader "[[The Octopus]]" inquiry.[^1]
His professional network and investigative pursuits were intricately linked with several key figures and clandestine operations. He served as a crucial contact for [[Michael Riconosciuto]], particularly following Riconosciuto's arrest. Riconosciuto initiated contact with Gunderson from jail, and Gunderson subsequently informed [[Cheri Seymour]] about Riconosciuto's ongoing investigation into the Mariposa County corruption and drug ring. Furthermore, Gunderson provided an affidavit and testimony during Riconosciuto's trial, aiming to corroborate Riconosciuto's covert government-sanctioned activities. At one point, Gunderson, Riconosciuto, and [[Robert Booth Nichols]] were colloquially described as being "inseparable, like the three musketeers," highlighting their close association.[^1]
His involvement extended to discussions with [[Ralph Olberg]] and [[Tim Osman]] concerning a global support network for the [[Mujahideen]] in [[Afghanistan]]. These discussions encompassed the field testing of novel weaponry and the exchange of arms for drugs, an operation connected to "[[The Company]]," a drug and arms organization comprising former military, law enforcement, and intelligence personnel. Gunderson's affidavit detailed conversations about the modification of Chinese 107 MM rockets and the strategic sanitization of Stinger missiles to prevent the leakage of sensitive information if they were to be captured by Soviet forces.[^1]
Despite their past collaboration, Gunderson faced limitations in disclosing numerous activities involving [[Robert Booth Nichols]] during Riconosciuto's trial, as Nichols was concurrently under [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] investigation for alleged involvement in organized crime. Interestingly, Gunderson had previously conducted an [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] background check on Nichols, which, to his surprise, indicated Nichols was "squeaky clean," a finding that later contrasted sharply with information suggesting Nichols' deep entanglement in drug trafficking and organized crime.[^1]
[[Danny Casolaro]], the investigative journalist, maintained contact with Gunderson during his "[[The Octopus]]" investigation. Casolaro confirmed that [[Ralph Olberg]]'s project to provide arms assistance to the Afghan rebels was legally sanctioned and operated through the State Department and Senator Humphrey's office.[^1]
Throughout his career, Gunderson encountered significant challenges and obstruction in his efforts to expose corruption. He observed a "turf battle problem" between [[Ralph Olberg]]'s group and certain factions within the [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] and their group, MSH ([[Management Science For Health]]), concerning the legitimate representation of the Afghan rebel leadership. His attempts to facilitate [[Michael Riconosciuto]]'s entry into the Witness Protection Program ultimately proved unsuccessful, as federal agencies, including the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]], demonstrated reluctance to fully cooperate or acknowledge Riconosciuto's claims.[^1]
### Child Abuse Network Investigations
Gunderson later became involved in investigating organized child abuse networks and related conspiracy cases. His work intersected with the release of government documents concerning [[The Finders]] case. In 2019 the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation]] began dumping heavily redacted case files from their investigation into [[The Finders]], including a follow-up inquiry into a suspected coverup in 1993. Buried among these releases, sprinkled with red herrings such as Gunderson's diagrams of the [[McMartin pre-school tunnels]] near the beginning of the first batch, were three documents of instantaneous interest. It turned out a list of names and addresses had been found on [[The Finders]] men caught transporting children through [[Florida]].[^2]
Gunderson's diagrams of the McMartin pre-school tunnels were included among the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation]] release materials, though their placement near the beginning of the document batch raised questions about whether they functioned as deliberate distractions from more substantive evidence. The McMartin pre-school case had become a focal point for debates about satanic ritual abuse and recovered memories, with tunnel allegations becoming a controversial element that was used to discredit survivor testimony. Gunderson's involvement in documenting these claims placed him within a network of investigators who pursued connections between institutional child abuse and intelligence operations.[^2]
The release of [[The Finders]] files in 2019 revealed that the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation]] had maintained extensive documentation on the group's activities, including surveillance reports and internal communications. Gunderson's materials, while included in the release, appeared alongside documents of more direct relevance to the case, such as the [[U.S. Customs]] memo compiled by [[Ramon J. Martinez]] and [[Metropolitan Police]] reports on [[Central Intelligence Agency]] involvement. The juxtaposition of his tunnel diagrams with these substantive documents raised questions about the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation]]'s organizational strategy in releasing the files.[^2]
Gunderson's career trajectory exemplified a pattern among law enforcement personnel who moved from official agency work to independent investigation of organized abuse networks. His [[Federal Bureau of Investigation]] background provided him with access to sources and documents unavailable to civilian researchers, while his independence from institutional constraints allowed him to pursue lines of inquiry that official investigations had abandoned or suppressed. The inclusion of his materials in the 2019 release suggested that the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation]] had tracked his activities and considered his findings relevant to their own investigations.[^2]

summary: "Dunn was assigned to Ben-Menashe's case pursuant to the Criminal Justice Act after Ben-Menashe had spent 75 days in jail."
---
[[Thomas F.X. Dunn]] was a New York-born, Irish-Catholic lawyer who represented [[Ari Ben-Menashe]] during his trial for conspiracy to sell [[C-130]] aircraft to [[Iran]]. Despite his initial lack of knowledge about the Middle East, [[Israel]], or the international intelligence scene, he developed a deep understanding of the complex case.[^1]
Dunn was assigned to [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe]]'s case pursuant to the [[Criminal Justice Act]] after [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe]] had spent 75 days in jail. He worked to prove that [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe]] was acting on behalf of the [[Israel|Israeli]] government with the knowledge of the [[United States|U.S.]] government, rather than as an illegal arms dealer. He faced challenges due to the [[Israel|Israeli]] government's initial denial of [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe's]] employment and later claims that he was only a low-level translator.[^1]
Dunn successfully used [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe's]] employment records, including performance reports and letters of recommendation from his superiors (Col. [[Pesah Melowany]] and Col. [[Arieh Shur]]), to demonstrate his high-level involvement in [[Israel|Israeli]] government activities. He also called [[Raji Samghabadi]], a *Time* magazine correspondent, as a witness, who confirmed [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe's]] prior knowledge of the [[Iran-Contra Affair]].[^1]
Through Dunn's efforts, [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe]] was released on bail after 11 months and three weeks in jail, and ultimately found not guilty. Dunn's summation to the jury highlighted [[Ari Ben-Menashe|Ben-Menashe's]] role as a victim of both the [[United States|U.S.]] and [[Israel|Israeli]] governments' stonewalling and denials.[^1]

summary: "Tony Van den Boggaert, a family acquaintance of Regina Louf (witness X1), operated as her pimp from her early teens during the 1970s and 1980s in Ghent, Belgium."
---
Tony Van den Boggaert, a family acquaintance of [[Regina Louf]] (witness X1), operated as her pimp from her early teens during the 1970s and 1980s in Ghent, Belgium. Louf claimed Van den Boggaert, a friend of her family, took control of her prostitution at age 12, leasing her to parties organized by [[Jean-Michel Nihoul]]. Van den Boggaert transported Louf to locations including Amsterdam brothels and Brussels mansions equipped with hidden cameras for blackmail. He managed her schedule, ensuring she performed sexual acts with clients at these events, where she was used as entertainment for businessmen and politicians. Louf stated Van den Boggaert introduced her to Nihoul's circle, where she was sold for services at parties escalating to violence. He accompanied her to the 1984 murder of [[Christine Van Hees]] at a mushroom farm in Brussels, where she was forced to watch the torture and killing by Dutroux, Nihoul, [[Bernard Weinstein]], and lawyer Michel Vander Elst. Van den Boggaert's role extended to facilitating her participation in orgies at Nihoul's chateau in the Ardennes, where contracts were sealed with sexual acts involving children.[^1]
Van den Boggaert's involvement in Louf's exploitation began after her grandmother [[Cecile Beernaert]] introduced her to the network through childhood prostitution at a Knokke-Heist brothel near [[Royal Zoute Golf Club]]. Louf described him as her "owner" after Beernaert, managing her as a child prostitute leased to Nihoul's parties. He drove her to these events, where she was trafficked to clients including [[Paul Vanden Boeynants]] at locations like the Dolo nightclub and Faulx-les-Tombes chateau. Van den Boggaert ensured compliance with threats and drugs, positioning her for filmed blackmail. Louf's testimony detailed a 1983 incident with Carine Dellaert, where Van den Boggaert delivered her to a house for rape after childbirth, involving Nihoul and Dumont. His activities aligned with the broader network documented in the [[X-Dossier]], where Louf identified him as a key figure in her grooming and transport.[^1]
Van den Boggaert died in 1995, halting potential testimony before the X-Dossier's compilation in 1996. His death, reported as suicide, occurred amid the network's operations, with no autopsy details disclosed. Louf claimed he maintained records of events, but no such documents surfaced in the investigation. His association with Nihoul's parties, where he supplied Louf, linked to business contracts and elite attendees like Counts [[Count Leopold Lippens]] and [[Count Maurice Auguste Lippens]]. The X-Dossier summary noted Van den Boggaert's role in providing girls to these gatherings, with Louf describing him driving her to Amsterdam's red light district for prostitution.[^1]
### Role in Exploitation
Van den Boggaert controlled Louf's prostitution from age 12, arranging encounters at Nihoul's Avenue Louise mansion with built-in cameras capturing acts for leverage in business deals. Louf testified he filmed some sessions himself, using the footage for further blackmail. He took her to the 1984 Van Hees murder at the factory farm, where she was locked in another room during the torture. For Dellaert, Van den Boggaert brought Louf to the site where she assisted the birth before the group rape, with the baby taken away. Louf's accounts placed him at orgies where children were used as incentives for contracts, with violence escalating to snuff for high-paying clients.[^1]
Louf described Van den Boggaert's family ties facilitating her entry into the network, with Beernaert selling her to him around age 12. He leased her services to Nihoul, who hosted events at the Dolo and chateau, where Louf performed oral and anal acts with multiple men, filmed for binding agreements. Van den Boggaert ensured her availability for hunts in the Ardennes, where children fled woods, caught and abused based on payment. He introduced her to drugs and violence, preparing her for parties with elites like Vanden Boeynants, where she was branded and forced into acts with dogs at ASCO factory.[^1]
Van den Boggaert's pimp role included transport in his car for these events, from Ghent to Brussels and beyond. Louf stated he had sexual relations with her from an early age, contributing to her dissociative identity disorder. His 1995 death by suicide prevented cross-examination, but Louf's testimony in the X-Dossier detailed his facilitation of her abuse, tying to [[Jean-Marc Connerotte]]'s probe. No further criminal records for Van den Boggaert beyond association with the network were documented.[^1]

Van den Boggaert connected to the network through Beernaert, who operated the Knokke brothel where Louf was initially prostituted. He worked with Nihoul to supply girls, attending parties where contracts were sealed. Louf claimed Van den Boggaert knew of the 1984 Van Hees murder, present with Dutroux and others. His role linked to [[Michelle Martin]]'s filming at parties, with tapes seized from Dutroux containing similar content. Van den Boggaert's death in 1995, reported as suicide, occurred before Dutroux's arrest, limiting direct links but noted in X-Dossier summaries.[^1]
Louf's testimony connected him to [[Jean-Paul Dumont]] and lawyer circles, with events at castles and factories. The network overlapped with [[Spartacus International]] through shared contacts, though Van den Boggaert's specific ties remained Louf's claims. His family background in Ghent facilitated access to victims, with Louf describing him as a family friend who groomed her from childhood. Post-death, no assets or records seized linked him further, but his role aligned with pimp activities in the X-Dossier's elite network descriptions.[^1]
Van den Boggaert's associations included figures like [[Paul Vanden Boeynants]], at whose parties Louf was supplied. Louf identified him in photos as the man who drove her to events with [[Marleen De Cokere]] and Nihoul. His suicide note or details were not public, but timing aligned with internal pressures in the network, amid investigations into related rings like [[CRIES]].[[^1]]

summary: "Her letter detailed the alleged corruption within the Mariposa County local government, including unlawful and corrupt activities by officials and departments, and the failure of the State Attorney General John Van de Kamp and federal agencies to investigate these allegations."
---
[[Vivian L. Wagner]] is the wife of attorney [[Ben Wagner]] and a legal secretary. On February 19, 1988, she sent an emotionally gripping letter to President [[Ronald Reagan]] at the [[White House]], titled "Restoring Equal Rights to the Citizens of Mariposa County."[^1]
Her letter detailed the alleged corruption within the Mariposa County local government, including unlawful and corrupt activities by officials and departments, and the failure of the State Attorney General [[John Van de Kamp]] and federal agencies to investigate these allegations. She stated that residents had placed their lives and families in jeopardy by coming forward. The letter listed numerous grievances, including violations of individual civil rights, abuse of discretion in criminal prosecutions, obstruction of justice, malicious prosecution, bribery, intimidation of Grand Jury members and witnesses, deprivation of property, illegal land transactions, failure to prosecute illegal drug sales (including by county employees), property rights violations, conspiracy to impede criminal investigations, homicide, attempted homicide, rape, battery, and perjury.[^1]
Vivian Wagner highlighted that her husband, [[Ben Wagner]], had to travel with an armed escort and conduct interviews during "midnight hours" due to the dangerous situation. She questioned why officials were not bound by the laws of the country and expressed her repulsion at the "shattering illusion" of government representation. She affirmed their dedication to restoring the [[United States Constitution|Constitution]] in Mariposa County and other foothill communities, vowing not to be discouraged until an answer was found, even if it meant presenting the problem to the President on the steps of the [[White House]].[^1]

[[Werner Tony Asmar]] was a German Lebanese intelligence agent who worked with the [[Defense Intelligence Agency|DIA]]. He was one of five key members of the MC-10 cell in [[Cyprus]] and Beirut. Asmar became aware of the alleged "non-controlled" loads of heroin being shipped back to the [[United States]] by [[Michael T. Hurley]] and the [[DEA|DEA]] operation. He reportedly went "toe to toe" with Hurley over this issue.[^1]
Asmar was killed in a bomb explosion at his office in east Beirut on May 26, 1988. His death was attributed to terrorists, but [[Michael Riconosciuto]] claimed that Asmar's cover was "deliberately blown." When Asmar was killed, the [[Defense Intelligence Agency|DIA]] ordered [[Lester Coleman]] home.[^1]

Wernher von Braun (1912–1977) was a German-American aerospace engineer and space architect, widely regarded as one of the fathers of rocket technology and space science in both [[Nazi Germany]] and the [[United States]]. He was the former chief scientist of the [[Apollo Program]] Moon program[^1].
During [[World War II]], von Braun was a leading figure in Nazi Germany's rocket development program, responsible for the design and production of the V-2 rocket. After the war, he was secretly brought to the U.S. as part of [[Operation Paperclip]], where he became a pivotal figure in the American space program, eventually leading the development of the Saturn V rocket that propelled the Apollo missions to the Moon[^1].
In 1972, von Braun met with [[Uri Geller]], a meeting arranged by [[Andrija Puharich]]. During this meeting, Geller asked von Braun to hold his gold wedding band in his clenched palm. Geller concentrated, and when von Braun opened his palm, the ring had been bent into an oval shape. Von Braun reportedly stated, "Uri Geller has bent my ring in the palm of my hand without ever touching it. Personally, I have no scientific explanation for it"[^1].
In a second incident, von Braun presented Geller with a non-working electronic pocket calculator. Geller held the machine and concentrated, and witnesses confirmed that the electronic panel inexplicably lit up. These incidents caught the attention of the [[Pentagon]], leading to a briefing on "Paranormal Phenomena—Briefing on a Net Assessment Study." The briefing noted the potential utility of [[Psychokinesis|psychokinesis]] (if feasible) in disrupting electrical systems, such as those associated with an [[Intercontinental Ballistic Missile|ICBM]]'s guidance program, as displayed by Geller[^1].

summary: "William J. Casey was Reagan's 1980 campaign manager and CIA Director from 1981 to 1987 who, among other disputed roles, is alleged to have secretly negotiated with Iranian representatives in Madrid and Paris in 1980 to delay the release of American hostages past Election Day -- the core allegation of the October Surprise -- and who died of a brain tumor in May 1987 as the Iran-Contra scandal unfolded."
born: 1913-03-13
died: 1987-05-06
location: "Elmhurst, Queens, New York"
---
William Joseph Casey was born March 13, 1913, in Elmhurst, Queens, New York. He attended St. John's University and Fordham Law School, becoming a corporate and tax attorney. During World War II he served in the [[OSS|Office of Strategic Services]] (OSS) under William "Wild Bill" Donovan, rising to head the OSS's Secret Intelligence operations in Europe and coordinating the infiltration of agents into Nazi-controlled territory. After the war he became a wealthy lawyer and author of tax shelter guides. President Nixon appointed him Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1971, a post he held through 1973. He managed [[Ronald Reagan]]'s 1980 presidential campaign. Reagan appointed him Director of Central Intelligence in January 1981, and he served as DCI until resigning due to illness in January 1987. He died May 6, 1987, at a hospital in Glen Cove, New York, having suffered a seizure in December 1986 and subsequently undergone brain surgery. He was subpoenaed to testify before the Senate Iran-Contra investigating committee but died before he could appear.[^5]
### October Surprise
The central allegation against Casey is that he served as the principal American negotiator in secret meetings with Iranian representatives in Spain and France in 1980, during which the [[Ronald Reagan|Reagan]] campaign agreed to delay the release of 52 American hostages held in [[Iran]] until after the November 4 election in exchange for promises of arms and the release of frozen Iranian assets. The allegation is the subject of the [[October Surprise]] affair.[^1]
Multiple sources identified two probable meeting locations: Madrid in July 1980 and Paris in October 1980. A U.S. Embassy cable indicating Casey was in Madrid "for purposes unknown" in summer 1980 was withheld from the House October Surprise Task Force by Bush administration officials and only surfaced through journalist [[Robert Parry]]'s reporting in 2011. Casey's personal calendar for October 20, 1980, showed an 8 a.m. Metropolitan Club appointment in Washington, which the House Task Force cited in its January 1993 report finding "no credible evidence" of a deal. Former French intelligence chief Alexandre de Marenches, through his biographer's sworn testimony, indicated he had arranged meetings between Casey and Iranians in Paris in October 1980.[^1][^2]
A separate Senate Foreign Relations Committee investigation found that Casey had engaged in "potentially dangerous" unauthorized efforts to collect intelligence on the Carter administration's hostage-release negotiations -- confirming Reagan-campaign intelligence operations against Carter's Iran policy without concluding a deal had been struck.[^2]
Casey died before he could be formally questioned under oath. He was subpoenaed to testify at the Iran-Contra hearings, which were examining a separate but related set of covert arms deals with Iran from 1985-1986.[^5]
### KH-11 and Israeli Intelligence
Casey was an enthusiastic supporter of the [[KH-11]] imagery-sharing program with [[Israel]] from the moment he took office, ordering that Israeli liaison officers be provided with a private office near [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] headquarters to ensure all essential intelligence was turned over. After the Israeli bombing of the Iraqi nuclear reactor at [[Osirak bombing]], Casey authorized a review that found Israel had significantly expanded the agreement, requesting and receiving extensive KH-11 coverage of western [[Russia]].[^4]
### Launching the Contra War
Reagan approved the intelligence finding for covert operations in [[Nicaragua]] in December 1981, and sent Casey to present it to Congress. Halting Sandinista arms shipments to [[El Salvador]] was the official reason Casey gave, but the operation's scope extended far beyond border policing. According to one account, Casey himself leaked news of the Contra project to *Newsweek* to ensure it could not be abandoned, reasoning that stopping it would look like another [[Bay of Pigs|Bay of Pigs]].[^3]
### The Secret 1982 Agreement
In early 1982, Casey and Attorney General [[William French Smith]] signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding that exempted CIA assets from drug crimes reporting. Crimes committed by people "acting for" an intelligence agency no longer needed to be reported to the [[Department of Justice]], and drug offenses were specifically removed from the list of crimes the CIA was required to report. For thirteen years, the CIA and Justice had what Inspector General Hitz called "a gentleman's agreement to look the other way." [[Robert Parry]] argued the timing proved premeditation: "That could only have been done for one purpose. They were anticipating what eventually happened. They knew drugs were going to be sold."[^3]
### Protecting Drug Traffickers
Casey decided not to raise allegations of [[Manuel Noriega|Noriega's]] cocaine trafficking with him "on the ground that Noriega was providing valuable support for our policies in [[Central America]]." [[Oliver North]] wrote that Casey did not want the Contras' "unofficial funds" coming into U.S. banks because Treasury agents on the lookout for drug money would grow suspicious. A former CIA station chief testified that the unspoken policy was that "we were going to play with these guys. That was made clear by Casey and [[Dewey Clarridge|Clarridge]]."[^3]

General [[Yekutiel Adam]] was an [[Israel|Israeli]] military leader who was in line to take over as Director of [[Mossad]] in 1981. However, he was assassinated by his own people, according to [[Rafi]], who claimed it was an inside job. The old guard in [[Mossad]] were reportedly afraid of him because he had told people in the [[Prime Minister's Office]] that he would make a clean sweep of the intelligence network.[^1]
Prior to his assassination, [[Yekutiel Adam|Adam]] lost a number of top-secret documents when he left his briefcase behind in a [[Los Angeles]] gas station, which caused a huge internal row within [[Mossad]] and an unsuccessful attempt to stop his appointment.[^1]

summary: "Zayed bin Sultan AL-Nahayan was the Head of Abu Dhabi's ruling family and president of the United Arab Emirates."
born: 1918-05-06
died: 2004-11-02
location: "Abu Dhabi"
---
Zayed bin Sultan AL-Nahayan was the Head of [[Abu Dhabi]]'s ruling family and president of the [[United Arab Emirates]].[^1]
### Early Life and Ascension
Zayed's early life was described by explorer Wilfred Thesiger, who noted his powerful build and reputation among the Bedouin. He was involved in the *ghazzu*, or Bedouin raid, to secure territory or camels. Zayed's passion was falconing. In 1966, Zayed deposed and exiled his brother, Shakhbut bin Sultan AL-Nahayan, and ascended to the throne of Abu Dhabi.[^2]
### Relationship with BCCI and Abedi
[[Agha Hasan Abedi]] cultivated a relationship with Zayed, recognizing the potential of Abu Dhabi's oil wealth.[^3] Abedi's persistence led to Zayed becoming a key supporter and later owner of [[Bank of Credit and Commerce International|BCCI]].[^4] Zayed's petrodollars were pumped into Abedi's bank, and BCCI handled the purchase of homes for Zayed in [[Pakistan]] and managed details of his trips.[^5]
BCCI effectively merged with Zayed's Private Department, which handled and invested the Emirates' wealth.[^6] Zayed was the principal mark in Abedi's con game, having been coddled into pumping $1.5 billion in new capital and another $1.5 billion in deposits into BCCI since mid-1990.[^7]
### Role in BCCI Scandal
Zayed and his chief lieutenant, [[Ghanim Fan's al-Mazrui]], were infuriated by the global seizure of BCCI, as it occurred just ten days before a deal to restructure the bank was to be signed.[^7] Zayed's various state agencies, along with Zayed himself, lost as much as $8 billion in the shutdown of BCCI.[^8]
He ordered audits of BCCI, which revealed billions of dollars missing.[^9] The [[Bank of England]] tried to persuade Zayed to inject more money into BCCI to cover losses.[^10]
