### Congressional Testimony on UAP
In his testimony, Moultrie acknowledged the reality of UAP and the potential threat they pose to national security. However, he also stated that the [[Pentagon]] was unaware of UAP incursions near sensitive nuclear facilities, a statement that was contradicted by historical records. He also claimed that, other than the [[Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program]] (AATIP) and [[Project Blue Book]], there had been no other government programs to investigate UAP, a statement that has been challenged by whistleblowers who allege the existence of a long-standing "Legacy Program."[^1]
In his testimony, Moultrie acknowledged the reality of UAP and the potential threat they pose to national security. Asked about a reported incident at [[Malmstrom Air Force Base]], Moultrie passed the question to [[Scott Bray]], Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence, who said: "That data is not within the holdings of the UAP Task Force." Bray said: "I have heard stories. I have not seen the official data on that," and "We have not looked at that incident."[^2] Asked about any initiatives between [[Project Blue Book]] and the [[Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program]] (AATIP), Moultrie said: "Not aware of anything that is official that was done in between those two," and "I haven't seen other documented studies that have been done by DOD in that regard." He said he was "not aware of any contractual programs that are focused on" UAP apart from "what we are doing in the Navy task force."[^2] Whistleblowers have alleged the existence of a long-standing "Legacy Program."[^1]
On the new office, Moultrie said: "The NDAA for fiscal year 2022 has helped us to establish a dedicated office to oversee processes and procedures for the timely collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of UAP-related data." He added that "we have, as of this week, picked the Director for that effort," and said the office's name "will likely change."[^2]
