John A. Szyc, full name inscribed on his Maine West High School graduation ring as 'J.A.S.', served as a key identifier in the investigation linking him to [[John Wayne Gacy]]. This ring, discovered during the December 13, 1978, search of Gacy's [[Norwood Park]] home at 8213 West Summerdale Avenue, confirmed Szyc's association with Gacy's construction operations. The inscription matched records from Maine West High School, where Szyc graduated in 1975, providing dental records for later body identification.[^1]
