### Ben-Menashe's Claims
[[Ari Ben-Menashe]] wrote that, on [[Menachem Begin]]'s order in the fall of 1980, Sagi and [[Nachum Admoni]] were to appoint the [[Iran-Israel Joint Committee]], a joint group of military intelligence and [[Mossad]] officers supplying arms to [[Iran]].[^3] The October Surprise Task Force reported that Saguy, in whose presence Ben-Menashe says [[Rafael Eitan]] confirmed reports of 1980 meetings in Spain between [[William J. Casey]] and [[Mehdi Karrubi]], told the Government of Israel that he had never met Ben-Menashe and that he had no knowledge of such meetings.[^4] In the task force's account, Israeli authorities interviewed Saguy together with [[David Kimche]], Eitan and others, and each said he had never met, known or heard of Ben-Menashe until Ben-Menashe began making allegations in the American media in 1991.[^5]
