California investor seen at a Wackenhut/Contra meeting, alleged to have associated with CIA operative Robert Corson. |
Wayne Reeder was a California investor who was seen at a Wackenhut Corporation/Contras meeting in Riverside County. He was also alleged to have associated with Robert Corson, a business associate of Ian Stuart Spiro and a reported Central Intelligence Agency operative.1
Reeder, CEO of the Reeder Company in Santa Monica, was interviewed by FBI agents on October 5, 1992 at the office of his attorney, with an Assistant U.S. Attorney present. He said he had built the casino on the Cabazon Indian Reservation at Indio and had received a percentage under an agreement made when he built it.2 He said Phil Hawes asked him to attend a demonstration at the Indio Police Department range on September 10, 1981 because Hawes wanted Reeder to provide capital and because Reeder had built the casino. Reeder said he attended for about thirty minutes, drove there alone in his Rolls-Royce and left alone.2
The 1993 report of Judge Nicholas J. Bua describes Reeder as a real estate developer whose Rolls-Royce was at the demonstration. It records that Michael Riconosciuto said Reeder arrived with Earl Brian, that a police officer who ran the license plates remembered Reeder arriving with someone he could not identify, and that Reeder and Peter Zokosky gave differing accounts of whether Zokosky drove Reeder.3
