He was present at [[Paul Wilcher]]'s apartment after Wilcher's death. Desarno, along with [[Craig Olson]], was one of two [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] agents present at the scene. Despite his presence, Desarno strongly denied that the [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] was interested in or involved in the case, repeatedly stating, "We are not interested in this case."[^1]
