Major Abdul Salam Jalloud was the right-hand man of Col. |
Major Abdul Salam Jalloud was the right-hand man of Muammar Qaddafi of Libya. He visited Iran to present Muammar Qaddafi congratulations to the new regime after the Iranian Revolution.1
During his visit, Abdul Salam Jalloud was questioned by his Iran hosts about the fate of Sheikh Mussa Sadr, a Shi'ite leader from southern Lebanon, who had disappeared on a visit to Libya in 1978. The Libya were believed to have killed Sheikh Mussa Sadr for preaching Shi'ite Islam. Abdul Salam Jalloud was not allowed to leave Iran for three weeks until Muammar Qaddafi personally intervened and spoke to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.1
