Shulamit Ingerman was a civilian cryptographer and head of the Iran desk in Unit 8200, an Israel Signals Intelligence (Sigint) unit. She was recognized as one of Israel's best cryptographers, having won the highest award for contributions to Israel's security twice.1
According to Ari Ben-Menashe, Ingerman introduced him to the Iranian team of six within Unit 8200. He wrote that he called her when he successfully broke the Iranian diplomatic code, and that she later intervened to obtain a pardon for him after he was court-martialed for insubordination by Sasson Yishaek.1
