Tempel ov Blood (ToB) is the primary American nexion (local cell) of the Order of Nine Angles (O9A), operating in the United States as an autonomous organizational unit within the O9A's decentralized global structure. Under the leadership of Joshua Caleb Sutter and through its publishing arm Martinet Press, Tempel ov Blood produced the O9A texts that reached the widest American audience, infiltrated and effectively took over Atomwaffen Division beginning in 2017, and supplied the ideological framework that AWD subsequently transmitted through Terrorgram channels into the broader accelerationist ecosystem from which the 764 Network network drew aesthetics and radicalization material.

Structure and Identity

Tempel ov Blood presents itself as an O9A nexion oriented specifically toward an American context, emphasizing a synthesis of National Socialist political commitments and Satanic occult practice. Within the O9A's decentralized framework, ToB is formally autonomous, connected to the broader O9A tradition through shared texts, aesthetics, and the initiatory doctrine of Insight Roles, rather than through any chain of command from a British parent organization.

ToB operates Martinet Press as its publishing and distribution vehicle. The Mapping Militants Project states that Tempel ov Blood "is co-led by Joshua Caleb Sutter and his wife Jillian Hoy, who are based in South Carolina" and gives 2014 as its first recorded activity.1 Vice described Jillian Hoy as the director of Martinet Press in August 2021.2 Rolling Stone wrote in June 2022 that Sutter co-founded the press with her.3 Bellingcat reported that the press's registered contact is listed as Sutter's wife.4 The press published physical books sold through neo-Nazi and occult channels and distributed digital versions through the O9A's own website (o9a.org) and through Atomwaffen Division's online platforms.3

Martinet Press Publications

The three most significant Martinet Press publications in terms of documented distribution and radicalization impact are:

Iron Gates (2014): A novel set seventy years after a global nuclear war and centered on a gang of Satanists moving through a post-apocalyptic American landscape while committing acts of extreme violence. Within the first fifty pages the book depicts infanticide, cannibalism, rape, sodomy, torture, and pedophilia, all framed within an O9A initiatory context. An open letter posted online by a former Atomwaffen member, quoted by USA Today, states that John Cameron Denton and others in the group "started to promote 'Iron Gates'" and that it was "REQUIRED READING to join AWD."5 Rolling Stone wrote that "Martinet Press titles were introduced as required reading for new O9A recruits."3 The book is preserved in full at the Internet Archive.6

Liber 333: An O9A instructional text authored and published through Martinet Press.

Bluebird: An O9A text published through Martinet Press.

A 2024 academic analysis of the Martinet Press catalog described the books as glorifying "mass murder, terrorism, sadism, and child abuse" in a sustained literary form intended to desensitize readers to extreme violence as a preparation for O9A-style initiatory transgression.3

AWD Infiltration

Tempel ov Blood's takeover of Atomwaffen Division was accomplished through the personal relationship between Sutter and Denton. Denton invited ToB members into AWD in the spring of 2017, attracted to the combination of National Socialist politics and Satanic occultism. Sutter joined AWD under the alias "swissdiscipline" and rapidly became a senior figure. Through his influence, at least nine O9A/ToB members held key positions in AWD at the peak of the relationship.7

The takeover was contested. AWD members who objected to Satanism as ideological contamination of their National Socialism left the group. Those who remained were reshaped by the ToB framework, which construed the group's violence as evidence of initiatory transgression rather than merely political action. This reframing deepened the group's capacity for violence by giving it a sacred dimension: killing was not just strategically useful but spiritually required for those pursuing the O9A Seven Fold Way.

The ToB influence on AWD directly shaped Ethan Phelan Melzer's plot to facilitate a mass-casualty attack on his own Army unit by transmitting classified information to O9A contacts. Melzer operated in what court documents described as the "RapeWaffen" subgroup, which combined AWD and O9A identity and whose assigned reading included Iron Gates, Liber 333, and Bluebird.7

Distribution Pipeline

Tempel ov Blood's documented role in the radicalization pipeline from O9A ideology to 764-adjacent networks runs through Martinet Press. The books ToB published circulated through Terrorgram channels, which were cited in the manifestos of Cain Clark and Caleb Vazquez, the perpetrators of the 2026 Islamic Center of San Diego Shooting. The pipeline from O9A doctrine to ToB publication to AWD required reading to Terrorgram distribution to contemporary lone-actor inspiration is one of the best-documented radicalization chains in the current American extremist landscape.
