Assistant U.S. Attorney and former Green Beret, legal confidant to Allan Boyak before Boyak approached the FBI about Robert Booth Nichols, later Interim U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. | 2026-10-15 |
|
Dexter Lehtinen was an assistant United States Attorney and a close friend of Allan Boyak from his Green Beret days. He later became the Miami U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida. He was named Interim United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida effective June 17, 1988.1 The Senate's 1992 report on Bank of Credit and Commerce International calls him "the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Dexter Lehtinen," among the critics of the Justice Department's handling of the bank.2 Boyak consulted with Lehtinen before going to the Los Angeles Federal Bureau of Investigation office with his suspicions about Robert Booth Nichols' activities.3
