[[Dexter Lehtinen]] was an assistant [[United States Attorney|U.S. Attorney]] and a close friend of [[Allan Boyak]] from his Green Beret days. He later became the Miami [[U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida|U.S. Attorney]]. He was named Interim United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida effective June 17, 1988.[^1] The Senate's 1992 report on [[Bank of Credit and Commerce International|BCCI]] calls him "the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Dexter Lehtinen," among the critics of the Justice Department's handling of the bank.[^2] Boyak consulted with Lehtinen before going to the Los Angeles [[Federal Bureau of Investigation|FBI]] office with his suspicions about [[Robert Booth Nichols]]' activities.[^3]
