[[Santos Trafficante, Jr.]] was an organized-crime leader who was contacted by [[Robert Maheu]] in 1960 as part of [[Central Intelligence Agency|CIA]] operations to assassinate [[Fidel Castro]]. Trafficante, Jr., along with [[Sam Giancana]] and [[Johnny Rosselli]], was enlisted to assist in these efforts, which involved Cuban exiles.[^1]
